Obergurgl is 1930m above sea level at the top of the Ötz valley.
In winter you are guaranteed snow. No lift queues. Unlimited skiing.
In summer you can enjoy being in the Ötztaler alps and climb one of the many mountains over 3,000 metres.
WINTER
Ski Area Obergurgl – Hochgurgl
Obergurgl – Hochgurgl is known for being one of the ski areas in the alps with guaranteed snow and offers fun and snow from November until the beginning of May. Where lifts in other resorts end we begin and you are guaranteed first class snow conditions with no queues.
Discover for yourself the fantastic region with 110 Pistenkilometres, from which 90 km have snow making machinery. 24 modern lifts with a total capacity of 39.400 people per hour go towards making your skiing holiday in Obergurgl perfect.
Longest Descent: Wurmkogel – downhill station of the Hochgurglbahn (8 km – altitude difference of 1.260 m)
Night skiing: Monday – Tuesday – Thursday by floodlight

The 8-person cable car “Top Express” connects the ski-areas of Obergurgl and Hochgurgl within a short 8-minutes ride (3,6km ling). High above the Verwalltal and Königstal valleys skiers can admire the stunning alpine scenery and the surrounding glaciers.

ACTIVITIES
Cross country skiing
Sport concious winter guests can train on the 12 km cross country trails. High trail: Pill – Angern – Poschach length 7 km goes directly past our house.
Winter Hiking Trails
12 Kilometres groomed Winter Hiking Trails take you through an intact landscape amidst the pine forest to the Schönwies hut und show you the winter at its most glamorous side.
Tobogganing
A tobogganing party down the 3 km long natural run with lots of bends from the top station to the bottom station of the Hochgurglbahn is fun for all of the family. Night tobogganning every Monday & Thursday.
Snowshoe Hiking
Guided snow shoe hikes take place every Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon . They are organised by the Obergurgl ski school.
Ice skating or curling
Good fun for old and young can be had with skating or curling on the ice rink in Obergurgl.
SUMMER
Summer holiday in Obergurgl
Obergurgl – Hochgurgl is in summer a Special Tip for Mountaineers and Hikers. Experience an unforgettable summer in the mountains amidst colourful alms and imposing mountains. A special experience also for families is the new Panorama Gondelbahn on the „Hohe – Mut“ with a view of 21 mountains over 3,000 metres. The healthy mountain climate in Obergurgl is also for guests with a pollen allergy especially relaxing.

Hiking
Take a leisurely stroll along fairytale forest paths. Marvel at the picturesque backdrop of deep blue lakes surrounded by mighty mountains or hike up an idyllic mountain pasture. Sports fans can embark on adventurous mountain tours stopping of a huts.
Mountain biking
The top end of the Ötz valley is a real Biking-Eldorado with mainly demanding routes.
Climbing
The Zirbenwald via ferrata, Schwärzenkamm via ferrata and Zirbenwald climing gardens promise exciting climing days and excursions for young and old.
Motor cycling
The twisty road over the Timmelsjoch with an altitude of 2.509 m offers every motor cyclist ideal conditions for a biker outing down south into Italy.
Motorcycle museum
Discover Europes highest motorcycle museum on 3.000m² with more than 230 classic motor cycles from over 100 manufactures. Futhermore some automobile rarities are presented in a fascinating museum.
Therme Längenfeld
Experience relaxation and wellness pure in our Therme “Aqua Dome” in Längenfeld approx. 26 km away (Journey time approx. 30 Minuten) A highlight after an exhausting mountaineering tour.
Swimming Lake Umhausen
The lake in Umhausen offers with its large grounds a wonderful atmosphere for the whole family.
Ötztal - Card
With the Ötztal Card you are able to experience all the activities on offer in your 67 km long holiday valley: 3-, 7-, und 10-, day tickets allow you to experience all the highlights of the Ötz valley. So e.g. Aqua Dome Längenfeld, the numerous mountain lifts in the region, busses, the new Outdoor – Adventure Area – 47 at the bottom of the valley, lakes und swimming pools and much more.
